Going by the Numbers: Traffic Citations Up, Traffic Fatalities Down

The following statistics tell a compelling story. In many of the places in which the SFPD has stepped up vehicle code enforcement, we can see corresponding reductions in traffic fatalities. Citywide, traffic citations increased 19% and traffic fatalities decreased 37%. Fifteen fewer people were killed in traffic fatilities in 2008, than in 2007.
